This book by Horace Judson is one of the best science books I have ever read. I've been recommending it to almost everyone I've met since I started reading it. It is a gripping and enlightening tale of the key discoveries that are the foundation of modern molecular biology - the role of DNA in genetics, the DNA transcription process, and the role of structure and function in proteins. He does a masterful job of putting you in the time and place as it happened, with the key scientists and their ideas, inspirations, and false steps. 05:52 # |
